Opening of IS Westpfalz in Ramstein-Miesenbach

We are very pleased to be able to formally announce the opening of the International School Westpfalz. The school will open in August 2017 and will offer classes from Early Years to Year 6. The life and decay of beer foam: DP2 gets experimental

DP2 have been carrying out a number of experiments recently, together with our new physics teacher, Dr. Kerstin Klein. The first experiment was about measuring the half-life and decay constant of beer foam. Year 3’s class mascot is the bee

At the beginning of the year, we discussed how and why bees are disappearing. Caring Year 3 LPs were surprised and saddened and decided they wanted to do something to help the bees. At first we wanted to write a letter to pesticide companies, but this may have presented a conflict of interest. SBW Visit to China

We had a very productive and interesting 10 days in China recently. ISN now has 5 sister schools in China. We met with officials from two regions in China and explored a number of collaborative options.We will be offering study tours at two of our SBW schools next year, and will be looking at running vocatioal programmes and teacher training programmes in Switzerland. Potential partnerships and targeted talent promotion programs

Partnership agreements could be implemented during the recent Chinese visit with no less than five private, as well as state institutions from Shanghai and Shenzhen. Other forms of cooperation are under discussion. For our own learning partners, this means facilitating exchange programs with these two booming cities. ISN celebrated “A Drink for a Cause”

The social evening "A Drink for a Cause" last Friday was a huge success. The students did a great job in presenting their work concerning areas of Creativity, Action and Service and managed to raise over 1000€ to support our Community work. Children discover technology!

On Thursday, February 18th learning partners in Years 4 and 5 worked on designing and constructing towers. It is a part of a programme called “Kinder entdecken Technik” sponsored by BASF, who provides the woodwork and toolkits. Staff First Aid Course

On Monday, January 11th our ISN staff attended a first aid course run by the Red Cross. Though it was a serious topic, we did manage to have fun with it.We learned many basic skills which are essential within an educational environment in order to protect the safety of our students.
