Tailor-Made Education
International School Neustadt (ISN) is a coeducational, full-day international school for children aged 4–18 years old.
ISN was founded in 2005 by the Verband der Holz- und Kunststoffverarbeitenden Industrie Rheinland-Pfalz e.V (Association of the Wood and Plastics Processing Industry, Rhineland-Palatinate) together with the financial support of the esteemed Swiss private education group SBW Haus des Lernens.
With a diverse community of learning partners from 20 different nations, ISN offers a caring family atmosphere for expatriates and local families alike. Expatriate families enjoy the social network at ISN which eases integration into a new location, while local German parents welcome that their children benefit from the innovative educational programme and English language instruction.
ISN offers the Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and A-level programmes, and is an accredited examination centre for Cambridge International Examinations.
ISN is based in a stunning 19th century historic landmark building close to the city centre of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, a picturesque town in the Rhineland-Palatinate known for its beautiful castles and vineyards.
While the language of instruction is English, our German language programme caters to both native and non-native German speakers. For non-native English speakers, ISN offers an English as a Second Language programme (ESL) within its Primary Years, which supports our learning partners while they adjust to a new language.
Furthermore, ISN is recognised by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate as an accredited supplementary school (‘anerkannte Ergänzungsschule’), and all of the Cambridge programmes offered, including the pre-university programme (A-levels) are recognised and welcomed throughout Germany and around the world.
among the happiest schools worldwide
We are proud to share that the International School Neustadt has been recognised among the happiest schools worldwide, following exceptional results in the Pupil Attitudes to Self and School (PASS) survey by GL Education.
Recently, our Primary learners from Years 2–5 completed this international survey, which measures how students feel about their learning, teachers, and school life. The results revealed outstanding positivity, confidence, and motivation across all areas.
Our highest scores were in:
✨ Feelings about school
🧠 Preparedness for learning
🤝 Attitudes to teachers
📚 Response to curriculum demands
💪 General work ethic
Such high results are rare and reflect the strong sense of belonging, care, and enthusiasm that define our school community.
At ISN, our learning partners love coming to school each day, connecting with friends and teachers, and growing in a supportive and inspiring environment.
