Empowering Young Voices

As part of World Poetry Day, last night, our school opened its doors to welcome teachers, parents, students and local authors who took part in ISN’s third annual Poetry Day event.
The theme of this year was ‘Our Planet, Our Future’ and focused on the SBW Haus des Lernens’ Future Skill ‘Sustainability’. The audience was taken back by the passion the young poets showed and their ability to express their thoughts and feelings in creative ways.
Students from 12 schools including Neustadt's Kurfürst-Ruprecht-Gymnasium, Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium and Leibniz Gymnasium, along with Goethe Gymnasium Germersheim, Max-Slevogt-Gymnasium, IGS Mutterstadt, Ottheinrich-Gymnasium Wiesloch, International School Westpfalz GmbH, Freie Waldorfschule Neustadt, Gymnasium Dinkelsbühl, and Gymnasium am Kaiserdom Speyer took part in the event focused on celebrating the most important form of literary expression - poetry.
This year more than 43 young poets took part in the poetry writing competition and it was no easy task choosing winners for the competition. In the end, the following young poets were rewarded for their impressive works:
German category winners:
1st: Annika Przygode, Goethe Gymnasium Germersheim
2nd: Yilka Sinani, Goethe Gymnasium Germersheim
3rd: Simon Koehler, Goethe Gymnasium Germersheim
English category winners:
1st: Julia Goldenbaum, Max-Slevogt-Gymnasium, Landau
2nd: Lavinia Heinz, Käthe-Kollwitz Gymnasium Neustadt
3rd: Brayden Erdner, International School Neustadt
Congratulations to all the great poets! 🏆📝
A big thank you to ISN's Amélie Michelle, Amélie and Brayden for their musical performances during the event! 😍
