A Language Learning Mission in Cambridge
While many students used the summer holidays to relax, our Year 11 learning partners Emilia and Ayca took the chance to invest in themselves.
Together they travelled to Cambridge, where Emilia joined a four-week intensive English course at the EF International Language Campus. Her goal was to prepare for A-levels and strengthen her English in an academic setting.
Ayca, who accompanied Emilia for the first two weeks, describes the experience as “unforgettable.” She adds: “Emilia introduced me to EF Cambridge, and I’m so glad she did. I went there to improve my English and came back with a C1 certification.”
For Emilia, this was not the first international programme. She has previously studied in Malta, Paris and London, each time widening her horizons and improving her language skills. “The first time I took part in an EF summer language course was in the summer holidays after fifth grade,” says Emilia. “I think the programme is just great. Not only because I notice how my English has improved – it’s also a great opportunity to meet new people.”
Driven by curiosity and determination, Emilia actively seeks out opportunities that challenge her academically and personally.
Through structured lessons and intercultural exchange, both learning partners improved their language skills while developing confidence and independence. Their story shows what is possible when you take learning into your own hands – a reminder that real progress often begins when we step out of our comfort zone.
We are incredibly proud of your motivation and engagement. Keep following your path with confidence and enthusiasm – we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
