Finding One’s ‘Face’
Recently, Y3-4, 5-6, and 7-9 took a field trip to the Junges Nationaltheater Mannheim to see a production called Les Géométries du dialogue.
This wordless show tells the story of how a young woman named Nikki, who is faceless, becomes the person she is today. Born a fragile and shy girl, she discovers her passion for drawing. She watches her mother put on make-up, creating a constant face, an identity built of individual components, almost of nothing. Throughout a series of events, some tragic, others comic, Nikki develops her own face and gains a certain element with each step that helps her define herself as a person.
The play, written by François Hien, explored several deep topics and was a visual masterpiece that all of our lps enjoyed!
