On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!!!

ISN’s traditional Sports Day, which encourages fair play and being balanced, took place in Ramstein on October 27 and proved to be a fun-filled event! This year, ISN was joined by its sister school IS Westpfalz and learning partners from both campuses joined together to form ‘houses’ which competed for both group and individual awards. Children took part in traditional track and field disciplines such as the long jump, shot put, javelin throw, hurdle race, and more. Although our lps compet...

International School Neustadt offers support to Afghanistan Refugees

We have all been following the awful news of the recent events in Afghanistan, and the international effort to rescue people from the terrifying situation in which they find themselves. There are currently many thousands of refugees living on base in Ramstein who fled their homes with nothing. As a result, one of our parents who has a connection to the base suggested that we could organise a donation drive at short notice to collect some of the most urgently needed items. Our school community ro...

What a great start of the new school year!

We were really happy to welcome back learning partners and parents and to greet the newest members of our community! Primary Learning Partners had the chance to meet their new teachers and classmates, go through school routines and to set essential agreements (classroom guidelines) with their teachers. Homeroom teachers prepared a lot of fun activities for our learning partners and were eager to hear how their summers were. Some of our older Primary learning partners even had brainstorming sessi...

World Read Aloud Day

On 3 February 2021, ISN celebrated World Read Aloud Day. Normally on this day we have a team of volunteer parents who come in to school and read stories to the different classes in their native languages, but of course this was not possible as all of our Learning Partners were at home due to the Covid-19 lockdown and school closures here in Germany. The children were encouraged to find a favourite story, a short poem, a joke, a page from a book, some news or any fun reading, make a video of them...

World Compliment Day

On 1 March 2021, World Compliment Day, our Primary Learning Partners enjoyed the opportunity to say complimentary things to each other and to their Mentors. There were posters and tear-off slips around the school - all of which were used - and the general atmosphere in Campus 1 was very positive. Even though Years 5 and 6 were still learning from home, their Mentor Darryl created an opportunity for them to participate as well through Teams. Some of our LPs put a great deal of thought into the co...

Bottle Bank

In December 2020 our DP Community, Activity and Service (CAS) groups at ISN had to come up with unique ways to be involved in the community due to COVID-19 pandemic containment rules and regulations. Calista and Penelope's project was to create a ‘Bottle Bank’ to promote sustainability through recycling in the local community. Secondary LPs donated their empty bottles into a recycling bin at school to raise money for our chosen local charity. In early December a couple of LPs cashed the bott...

However, due to coronavirus, Lichtblick were unable to do many things in the “norm...

IB students raise 1000€ for local charity Lichtblick

A very big thank you and job well done to the ISN Diploma students who today delivered their Christmas Market profits to Lichtblick. Our students worked hard to provide an important service to those less fortunate here in Neustadt and towards completing their IB CAS service requirements. On behalf of the staff here at ISN I would like to congratulate the students on another successful Christmas Market this year and we look forward to helping out more who are in need next year. Happy HolidaysMaxw...
